We certainly know how much Bollywood is the next big thing in India, after Cricket. We desperately wait for those big movies, even if we know that some of them might be as dumb as a turkey! Salman, Hrithik, Shahrukh, Akshay, everyone is busy buckling down to get their fans to the screens. But which are the most awaited? Well, this year, there are many movies down the line that has been the talk of the town. Let’s jot down the first five:
- Sultan:
Khan vs Khan. Phew! This year can set the Bollywood to fire! Sultan is this Salman’s most awaited movie till date and it has already succeeded to gather mass follower just by his first look as “Haryane ka Sher“. The surprise package in the movie is, of course, Salman in the ‘langot avatar’ as a wrestler. But pairing with Anushka Sharma has already made the duo a sizzling on-screen couple. Salman and Anushka, both will be seen as a rural couple, so don’t get high hopes of seeing Anushka in fancy outfits!
- Mohenjo-Daro:
Once again Hrithik is back to bang the screen after Bang Bang movie, with a historically themed movie Mohenjo Daro. Ashutosh Gowarikar’s directorial skills, with Hrithik’s ‘fadu’ performance and A.R. Rehman’s music, are enough to give you goosebumps. Based in the time span of 2600 BC, the movie is yet a mystery for the fans to be revealed only on the screens.
P.S. Mohenja Daro is an archeological site that holds the Indus Valley Civilization, one of the world’s earliest major urban civilizations (for those who wondered what Mohenjo Daro is).
- Raees:
You would never ever forget that gangsta yet a dapper look of Shahrukh Khan in and as Raees. In 1980, in a place like Gujarat, where prostitution and alcohol are banned, Raees is a witty bootlegger who’s famous for his notoriety. But soon a cop, which is played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, challenges his reign. Mahira Khan, Pakistani actress (Humsafar series fame) will debut with this movie. Beautiful Mahira, dapper Shahrukh and talented Nawazuddin, a lethal combo it is!
- Dangal:
Again a Khan! A biopic based on Mahavir Singh Phogat is Aamir Khan’s most awaited movie in 2016. Aamir has already gained muscles for this movie and the fans are eager to watch him do ‘dangal’! The story depicts the journey of a father and his two daughters’ struggles and achievements at Common Wealth Games, even when the world changes sides. And mind you those girls became the ‘first female wrestler’ to won Gold and Silver medals in the Common Wealth Games.
- Udta Punjab:
Udta Punjab is a real treat for movie fans. Drugs, artificial standards, low morality checks, rock star touch and many more things make this complicated movie one of the most anticipated movies of this year. Shahid Kapoor will be seen in the raging Rockstar look, while Alia Bhatt is playing a migrant laborer! To add more zest, Diljit Dosanjh is a cop and Kareena is a doctor. All these people have a common connection and represent a tantalizing truth of India in one line “Drugs di maa di”!
